- Kitchens-
OWS People's Kitchen has been delivering dinner to Union Sq. since Monday, March 19th. All food previously going to 60 Wall St. has been diverted to Union Sq. and generally arrives from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Parks Dept. officers have warned that serving hot food inside the park is not allowed and that individuals participating in any "kitchen" may be subject to fines. It was recommended by the Park's Dept. officials that the food be served on the sidewalk across the street from Union Sq. So far food has been served on a table in the park and despite threats there have been no reports of tickets or fines from the Parks Dept. officers.

Front plaza is legally the side walk and the jurisdiction of the NYPD while the area behind the blue banners is jurisdiction of the Park's Department and is "closed" from midnight to 6am.
We are not allowed to sleep or have your eyes shut on the "sidewalk". NYPD procedure for people sleeping on the sidewalk is to nudge you awake the first two times and then the third time they could arrest you.
