The Project List Project gathers and shares information on active Occupy projects, though most projects currently documented are from OWS and OWS affinity groups. Information collected includes project descriptions, contacts, the persons guiding/managing those projects, and the internal or external partners they are working with on those projects. The Project List Project has provided input on the Project Information schema used by this wiki and may, in the future, take manage Project Information for this wiki.
The resulting project list is shared to all OWS through crm.Occupy.net (URL TBD) and through a regularly printed newspaper style OWS Project List, and other channels.
The printed list includes projects from any Occupy in the NYC area. The online list will include projects from any Occupy.
Creating and sharing this list of projects provides activists and the larger public a clearer understanding of what we are up to and how to get involved.
The data gathered will also be displayed and analyzed as a social network map – providing OWS new perspectives on the relationships we are building within our movement and with the communities around us.
The findings produced and shared from this participatory research will help the larger movement in the following ways:
- By identifying the existing network of working groups and projects, this research will increase newcomers and existing OWS participants capacity to move into contributing roles in the movement.
- By identifying project managers, this research improves OWS capacity to communicate with stakeholders.
- This research will identify overlapping projects and duplicative labor.
- By identifying the collaborative network of WGs and organizations from outside OWS, this research will help us to know more about the social, economic, racial and political dimensions of the movement we are building – enabling us to shift priorities if necessary.
Editorial and Submission Guidelines The Occupy Wall Street Project List only accepts projects for print publication that are managed by Occupy working or affinity groups in NYC. Projects must include as a partner at least one working or affinity group explicitly affiliated to an Occupy NYC metro area: Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island, New Jersey, etc. Neighborhood Occupy groups from within those areas are welcome and encouraged to submit.
However, the forthcoming web edition of The Occupy Wall Street Project List will accept Occupy projects from anywhere on the globe. Such projects still must include at least one partner explicitly affiliated with a geographic based Occupation.
For publication online or in print, projects must provide at least one working email or phone number as a public contact.
For publication online or in print, submitted projects must offer to readers the opportunity to participate as co-creators through planning, coordination, or other means. For example, a project that merely asks people to sign an already created petition would not be accepted. However, a project seeking people to plan and execute a petition drive would be accepted.
Descriptions of projects and lists of partners must be accurate. Though we do not fact check the submitted reports, if questions about veracity come to our notice the OWS Project List team will contact contributors and pursue accuracy. Where inaccurate claims or contacts are found, the Project List team will reject projects or edit for accuracy. All projects submitted will also be edited for grammar and to reduce redundancy.
In keeping with the OWS Principles of Solidarity (http://www.nycga.net/resources/principles-of-solidarity/), under no circumstances will The Occupy Wall Street Project List accept projects that advocate violence or denigrate persons based on race, gender, age, or sexual orientation.
The Occupy Wall Street Project List welcomes and encourages the participation of activists from any Occupy in all phases of production and distribution of the print and web editions. The OWS Project List is a sponsored project of the NYCGA Technology Operations Group and is subject to the consent of that group and to the policies established by the NYCGA.

This project list was created by the Project List Project to organize information about all the projects people involved with OWS are doing. The group is requesting that Technology Operations Group add this information to OccupyWallStreet.net. It seems a 'project' section would be a good solution.
Top level project page should have the following functionality:
- Featured projects that are curated by OWS.net
- Project Index that includes all projects authorized by the [] and searchable/sortable by project name, keywords/tags, working or affinity group
- Register your Project (input form for submitting Project Information
- Registered users should also be able to return and edit info on their submitted projects
- Expiration notice should go to registered users when their projects expire or when updates may be needed prior to print and web monthly updates.
